Teachers understand that children learn differently.
The teacher understands how pupils differ in their approaches to learning and the barriers that impede learning and can adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of pupils, including those with disabilities and exceptionalities.


Evidence 1: bubbl.us


Rationale 1: Brainstorming is the first step in the Writing Process, which is taught in all writing courses in Mayville High School. There are many methods that I demonstrate to my students so that children who utilize different learning styles have a few choices. The free program called bubbl.us allows the visual learners to use a basic bubble chart or web chart to brainstorm their ideas for essays in Intermediate Composition. All of these 11th grade students can pick the method that works best for their learning styles; consequently, if they prefer working with a computer to brainstorm, bubbl.us gives them a colorful tool to enhance their thoughts.

With the variety of brainstorming devices available, I allow students to use the method that best fits their learning styles.

All students learn differently, so offering them different resources to use while brainstorming allows them to work with devices with which they are comfortable. If they choose to use a digital device, they may; if they prefer a nondigital method, they may. I respect how they learn.

success.
No matter what my students’ academic levels or learning styles are, I try to show the students that they can reach their goals. This evidence gives them another choice in their learning.
